Security Update 2004-09-30 delivers a number of security enhancements and is recommended for all Macintosh users. This update includes the following components: AFP Server, CUPS, NetInfoManager, postfix, and QuickTime. The impact of the CUPS vulnerability includes a denial of service causing the printing system to hang. The Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) implementation in CUPS can hang when a certain UDP packet is sent to the IPP port. The Quicktime vulnerability includes is a heap buffer overflow could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code.
